Window Seal Repair, double paned glass moisture removal, costs?
The Window Seal Repair & Moisture Removal Process
The simple explanation. Remove the moisture from inside the window which entered through the broken window seals. The moist air comes from inside your home. Replace it with dry air from outside your home.
Depending on the window size, two or more small inconspicuous holes are drilled through the outside pane of the foggy double paned window to allow the window moisture removal and then replaced with dry air from outside your home.
The inside of the window between the two window panes is first washed with a solution to remove any unsightly deposits and stains and then rinsed with a solution to assist in the drying process.
A spacer bar desiccant sealer is injected to cover the bottom spacer bar as a window seal repair. This area is usually where most of the moisture enters from failed window seals and where most of the moisture accumulates within the desiccant of the bottom spacer bar.
Finally, a vent is plugged into the holes to allow the home windows to continue to dry, regaining their original R-Value.

More specifically, a failed double paned window seal repair is as follows:
Step 1: Drill Exterior Window Pane
Drill two small holes at the top and bottom into the exterior pane of the double paned glass window. These holes allow access to the internal glass surfaces and air space.
Step 2: Clean Internal Glass Surfaces
Wash with a solution to remove any unsightly deposits and stains. Then rinse with a solution to remove any remaining residue and to assist in the drying process.
Step 3: Window Seal Repair
A spacer bar desiccant sealer is injected to cover the bottom spacer bar as a window seal repair. This is a precautionary measure to prevent moisture ingress from the bottom spacer bar and to prevent moisture accumulation within the desiccant of the bottom spacer bar as a window seal repair.
Step 4: Vent the Window
Install vents into the two holes drilled through the outside window pane for continued ventilation. This will allow the double paned windows to continue to dry, regaining their original R-Value.
Some windows will clear within a few hours, some within a few days, and some can take a couple of months. Variables like the time of year, size of the window, the direction it is facing, and your geographical location, all contribute to how quickly the window will completely clear and regain its original R-Value. The double paned window will remain totally clear for years at a substantially lower cost than window replacement, and with considerably less inconvenience.
This window seal repair and condensation removal process has been around for over 20 years. The real question that begs to be answered, is why this new technology is not incorporated into the production of all new windows manufactured today?
